Beautiful Blessing / Spring Wildflowers Maternity Photography

Ahhh, this maternity photography session was magical!  At the last minute we had a complete change of plans when they asked to bring their furry friend along with them. The place we were originally planning for didn’t allow dogs, and I think it was fate because I’d just stumbled upon a GORGEOUS wildflower patch. The flowers were at peak bloom, and I couldn’t contain my excitement to capture this maternity session at such a beautiful spot. It was meant to be!

We met up that gorgeous spring evening, with the sun softly shining, and created literal magic! This couple was glowing, and I really enjoyed capturing their love and excitement!

Due date: July 17, 2021

How did you find out you were pregnant? Peter and I had been praying for God to bless us with a baby. And when November 11th came around I felt that nudge to take a test. I ended up taking one and we found out we were having a baby!

How did you share the news of your pregnancy with your spouse? He was with me while I waited to see what the test said.

How did you share the news of your pregnancy with friends and family? We waited til our first doctors appointment to tell close family with a picture of an ultrasound. We told friends once we were through our first trimester with a social media post of our dog Bailey holding a sign letting everyone know “mom and dad were getting her a human” 😊

How did you feel seeing the first ultrasound and hearing the baby’s heartbeat? Relief, so thankful, so blessed.

Have you had any nicknames for the baby? I sometimes call him my little honey bear (our shower theme is Pooh bear lol)

Are you having a boy or girl?  Surprise? A boy! 💙 we did a gender ultrasound and then had them hide the results in an envelope. Then we did an Instagram and Facebook live (trying to be covid safe) and found out with all our friends and family by releasing balloons from a box. Funny part is peter and I both accidentally seen the shadow of the balloons in the box beforehand and neither of us told each other cause we weren’t 100% sure it was really blue we had seen lol

Have you chosen a name? Yes, Elijah! We both had gone over names together and agreed we really like this one. We also wanted a name that had important meaning and was in the Bible. It became very evident as we made the decision on this name that it was definitely the right pick. Elijah means yaweh or the Lord is my God. He was also a great prophet for the Lord and we pray that our boy would also grow to be a man who serves the Lord.

Pregnancy Cravings: I haven’t really had any lol same normal food cravings as before pregnancy mostly mexican, burgers, and fish hit the spot. I guess also technically I’ve had cravings for jalapeño chips and veggie sandwiches from jimmy johns.

Pregnancy Aversions: Most things. Up until this 3rd trimester I couldn’t eat steak at all. Also can’t eat avocados which I used to love (this was the first thing I got sick off of).

What was your first purchase for the baby? A plush circle mat with baby animals on it for him lay on.

Does baby have a nursery theme?   Baby sheep, with a color scheme of gold, white and baby blue.

What pregnancy moments would you like to remember? Honestly, all of it. Finding out we were pregnant, the reveal to family, the reveal to friends, finding out we’re having a boy, our 20 week ultrasound (the first and only appointment peter was allowed to come to so far), the first time we heard his heartbeat, my growing belly, feeling him move. There’s so many!

What pregnancy things have been hard and that you might like to forget? There’s been some hard things. Morning sickness or more like all day sickness for a lot of the first half of the pregnancy and being very sore, but I don’t want to forget any of it.

Any funny pregnancy stories to share? I’ve been pretty good overall with mood swings except 2 specific times lol. Once I cried because the water got left in the car and was frozen so I couldn’t drink it lol and then peter got me food from jimmy johns and they didn’t give me my jalapeño chips that was just devastating for me lol

“This pregnancy has been such a blessing and great reminder of the faithfulness of God. He answered our prayers and we couldn’t be more grateful to Him for this beautiful gift of our baby boy!” 💙
