At the beginning of his newborn session, baby Dominic wasn’t in the sleepiest of moods. He grunted his way through the first part of the morning, making sure he let me know who was in charge. As I moved him from one pose to the next, he continued to grumble, but pretty soon we got into a nice little groove. I always make sure my studio is soothing, and try as hard as possible to mimic the conditions in the womb. The babies that come to me for their newborn sessions are typically just days old; keeping my studio warm, their little bodies cozy, and the background sounds as soothing as possible is always my goal. This familiar, serene, womb-like environment ensures to keep them as cozy and relaxed as possible. This particular Thursday morning, I can attest with absolute certainty that the conditions in my studio were extremely ideal for a cozy little nap. But unfortunately, my sleepy environment lured the wrong guy into a deep and cozy sleep! Dominic’s daddy snored his way through the majority of the session, ha ha!
Eventually, and as how it usually goes, time, care, and patience won out, and I was able to capture some absolutely adorable shots for his mom and dad! I just loved his squishy little body, chubby cheeks, and sweet little smirks. What a cutie!
