The Senior Photography Experience / What To Expect

{Before}

Once we have set a date for your session, we will discuss your thoughts, inspiration, and expectation for your custom senior photography session. We will discuss location, timing, as well as clothing choices. We can work together to determine the specific look, style, and feel you’d like for your session, whether that be chic, preppy, athletic, vintage or an eclectic mix. I want your senior photos to represent you, and truly reflect your style and who you are! We want to make the most of our time together, so pre-planning before the big day ensures a successful session. At anytime before your session I am here to answer or help with any questions you might have.
{Day}

Your session will last approximately 1.5-2 hours to ensure plenty of time. Typically, sessions will be scheduled in the late afternoon, just prior to sunset to ensure the highest quality and most beautiful lighting for your session.
{Wardrobe}

Clothing choices are hands down the most important aspect during the planning of your session. The clothing you choose will create the mood and feel of your portraits. Upon booking your session, you will be provided with a 35 page exclusive style guide loaded with inspiration, ideas and tips to help to plan all the details of your session. The guide will include clothing, accessories, hair and beauty…and will help you pull your entire look together. Along with this, I send tips and tricks to help prepare for your big day. I’ll work closely with you to help and perfect your final outfit choices.
{Location}

I work exclusively on location. Choosing areas with lots of visual texture; crumbling old buildings, cityscapes, grassy fields, and overgrown gardens create an amazing backdrop for your portraits. Urban locations such as downtown areas, alleys, and old buildings tend to create a fun, funky and edgy look. Or possibly a more natural environments for a classic, simple, elegant and earthy look. Think open grassy fields, bubbling creeks or gardens full of flowers. The options are endless, so I will work with you to figure out the perfect location to capture the look and style you’d like to achieve. I have many places around Metro Detroit, Ann Arbor, and the surrounding areas that I love to use, so we will surely find the perfect spot.
{Beauty}

While it’s optional, I do recommend that you have their hair and makeup professionally done. It’s your day to shine, so it’s only fitting that your once in a lifetime senior photography session will include professional hair and makeup, even when naturally applied. It will be the final step to create a flawless look, helping you to feel and look your best in front of the camera.
{After}

Approximately two weeks after your session you will receive the password to your private online proof gallery. Your gallery will contain 35+ carefully chosen portraits. Though many images were taken during the session, rest assured that I have chosen the best images to present to you. Your proof gallery will be available for one week. All orders should be placed within this time frame.
