Charles’ mom contacted me in the months prior to his arrival. After chatting back and forth, we moved forward with scheduling his newborn session. After his due date was secured on my calendar, we continued to correspond back and forth as I answered questions and we chatted about the possibilities for his session. I always enjoy this; it’s wonderful getting to know my clients before the session, as well as knowing they’re comfortable with me! Knowing that my clients have the utmost trust in me and are confident in my abilities to handle their precious little bundles is so important to me, after all, I’m usually one of the very first outside people to meet their new little bundles once they arrive! Coming to my newborn studio is often their first big outing as a family!
As time passed by, I enjoyed checking in as his due date grew closer, seeing how things were coming along, as well as chatting about the excitement swirling around the final days before his arrival. I enjoyed hearing a little about the family he was being welcomed into, how the shower went, and the final touches that were being put on his nursery. Once Charles made his big arrival, we immediately set up a date for his session, and finalized any last details and preferences his mom had for his newborn session! His session was set for day 7, and I was as excited as ever to meet him, but also his parents! When chatting back and forth and getting to know my clients, I’m also following along on the exciting journey of those last couple months right along with them! I’m anxiously awaiting news of the baby’s arrival! When the gender is a surprise, I’m also anxiously awaiting to hear if it’s a boy or a girl! When names are kept a secret, I’m dying to hear what their name will be! It’s a fun journey for me too, albeit on the sidelines, so when it’s finally time to meet the long awaited little bundles and their proud parents, it’s always so exciting!
While my studio has everything needed for a newborn session, along with a massive array of props to choose from, Charles’ momma choose to bring along an adorable little romper for him to wear. I had to giggle, because the fact of the matter is that a man has a limited window of opportunity where it’s socially acceptable to wear a romper, and Charles took advantage of his! He was such a sweet little bundle, perfectly sleepy and poseable. I really enjoyed every moment of my time spent with him and his family!
