The story of Rhys:
Sharing the news of arrival: -We framed a picture of our older son sitting next to the Christmas tree, where there was a note that said “Big Brother, est. 2021” and gave to each of our parents on Christmas Day. It was fun to see how long it took them to find the hidden message :)
Pregnancy moments: -I spent 9 days leading up to Rhys’ birthday in the hospital with RSV and bronchitis :( I finally got discharged at 4pm on 7/30, came home, ate dinner and my water broke a few hours later. The nurses were laughing when we arrived later that evening, since I had only managed to stay away for a few hours! Rhys waited just long enough for his mom to get better and then decided it was time to make his debut earth side :)
Pregnancy cravings: -Ramen and Japanese pan noodles!
Naming Rhys: -Rhys means passion and enthusiasm, two things we hope to instill in our little boy! His middle name, Donald, is in honor of my father.
First thing we noticed: -What a peanut he was! His big brother was born almost a pound heavier but thankfully Rhys is quickly catching up :)
Favorite features: -How much he looks like his big brother but also the excitement of not knowing who exactly he will look like/take after as he grows up. Also he has the sweetest little face and lips.
Moments we don’t want to forget: -The crying when he was born that instantly subsided when they placed him on my chest. The sense of security and purpose that arises with becoming a mother, even for a second time, is an unparalleled feeling.
Adorable things Rhys does: -I adore the sweet sounds/grunts he makes! He’s a very chill baby but when he’s hungry, all the sass comes out :) Also how he loves to sit on your lap, bent forward and tapped on the back for a burp. Being in that position, he has an instant look of comfort on his face..it is quite precious.
