{Sia Singh} Baby Makes Three / Happy Family Newborn Photographer

“Thank you for capturing the most precious moments of our life.

These pictures are a treasure for us and can’t wait to share them with family and friends.”

I feel so blessed to work with such wonderful families and share in the most joyful time of their lives!

I had a wonderful time meeting and photographing Sia’s parents during their late fall maternity photography session.  I loved joining in on the excitement with them while awaiting Sia’s arrival.  We had many great conversions while we planned for her newborn photos, and I really, really enjoyed getting to know them.

Before we knew it, Sia made her arrival!  She arrived just 3 minutes before the clock struck mid-night and 2020.  A New Year’s Eve baby, just barely!

We scheduled her newborn session for her 8th day and had lots of adorable looks planned for her including my white bunny outfit, snuggled in one of my little beds, in an earthy twig basket, draped in a luxurious red and gold traditional Indian scarf, and so much more.  All so cute!

Sia’s Story..

Sharing the pregnancy:  “The day I knew we were pregnant was a surprise to both of us. My husband was downstairs at home watching tv and I was upstairs , we have open house concept so when I broke the news he looked at me , dashed upstairs and gave me a hug. We were excited but we took some time to share the news with family and friends.”

Pregnancy moments: “Our pregnancy journey has been nothing but beautiful right from day 1. Her first heartbeat, first scan and tiny lil kicks were truly special and memorable. I knew right from my first day of pregnancy that we are going to have a baby girl and I was beyond excited when the Doc let us know that we were indeed having a girl on our big scan day.”

Pregnancy cravings: “As far as cravings, I had close to none throughout my pregnancy except once I had craving for Indian fast food , the store close to Ann Arbor was closed so my husband drove me 45 miles to Troy to same store so that I can eat my fav fast food!”

Naming Sia: “My husband and I were instantly in love with the name ~ SIA as we were looking through names for baby girl/boy before the gender reveal. Sia signifies goddess of harvest in India &  symbolizes victory in Swedish.  I felt personally connected as it was a reflection of my great grandmother’s name and was more like a blessing to our baby girl.”

Meeting Sia: “‘Blissful’ is all I (we) can say when our eyes met  for the first time. Her soft tiny little hands, warm breath took away all my pains and long struggle instantly as I held her on my chest. There are times when you are out of words to describe something so perfect and special and this was one of those moments where my silent tears of joy said it all.”

First thing we noticed about Sia: “The moment my husband and I saw her we said it out loud together that she looks just like my dad (her maternal grandfather) :). It’s funny cos her expression and sweet little frown as she emerged out was so identical to my father.”

Favorite things about Sia: “Everything about our baby we love. We will never want to forget her cute cheeks , big eyes and bobble head gesture when she tries to balance her head all the time , her frequent hand movements as if she is trying to grab anything she can get hold off.”

Favorite Moments and memories: “Ahhh!! This one is so tough to answer since there are so many already. Sia is truly a rainbow to our lives. The happiness, love and affection she has brought to all of us is inexplicable within the last few weeks. While we are already nervous with her growing up so fast, there isn’t a single moment we want to miss out on – be it her sleepy stares and smile, cuddles. There are already a zillion pictures and videos on our phones to make the most of these beautiful moments. My husband will never forget her firsts of everything.. her first barf, her first drive back home from hospital , her first diaper change!”

Personality: “Sia is a complete firecracker ! :) Surprisingly super alert and aware of her surroundings for a 3 week old. She loves being cuddled and carried around to be put to sleep. She is quite systematic with her play timings that’s twice a day (morning around 9:00 AM and evening around 7:30) and loves talking to her friend Mr.Bunny throughout the day. Loves dancing in her dad’s arms.”
