Her mom and dad chose not to find out if they were having a baby boy or girl. What fun! They ended up being a little surprised when she arrived because they’d thought she might be a boy. Surprise!
I love it when my clients wait to be surprised until baby arrives…it’s fun for me too!
We planned Rachel’s newborn session for day 4. She showed up perfect and plump. And her cheeks!!!
We had a nice mix of looks planned…pinks, purples, aqua, and even a few earthy organic looks. Since her daddy is such a football fan, we planned a football themed photo with her too; we girly-ed it up with a cute flower headband.
She made lots silly little faces during her session: smiles, grimaces, a yawn, and she even opened her big, beautiful eyes for part of the session. I couldn’t have asked for more!
So many cute images, and so much variety. She really let her personality shine, and I think we captured it perfectly!

Pregnancy cravings: “Chicken patties, BDubs, and candy.”
Eventful pregnancy moments: “We went to the Ohio State vs. Michigan Wolverines football game 3 days before our due date.
Meeting Rachel: ” She was much larger than I expected…I couldn’t believe that I had been carrying something that large around inside of me. Her daddy was amazed by how quickly she “shot out” when she was born.”
First thing we noticed: “Her hair…and she was much bigger than we thought…and we thought all along that she’d be a boy, so we noticed she didn’t have a “little something” that we expected her to.”
Favorite things: “She has really high-pitched whimpers/sighs.”
